Destiny Allison

Destiny Allison’s relationship with art dates back to her childhood. Born in Santa Fe, she grew up in a home filled with music, art and books. Her parents, a writer and a painter, encouraged her artistic pursuits. In 1987, Allison moved to Massachusetts. While in Massachusetts, Allison developed an intimate relationship with sculpture during a two year apprenticeship at New England Sculpture Service in Everett, Massachusetts. She taught sculpture at two museums, was a visiting artist at the Massachusetts College of Art, and completed her first public work. Her art was shown throughout the region. In 1997, Allison moved back to Santa Fe with her three children. Since then she has exhibited her work extensively. Her art continues to explore human relationships, roles and symbolism through her personal sculptural theory and technique. In 2000, Ms. Allison took a leave of absence from sculpture to write a book on artistic process and sculptural theory. She recently completed this endeavor and has returned to sculpture full time. She exhibits nationally and is currently represented by Oakey and Roots Gallery in Houston Texas, Yates Gallery in Fountain Hills, AZ and Crossroads Contemporary in Santa Fe, NM.
